I would like to get a list of suppliers of coal in NY. If you feel your supplier is good than please post. Lets make unposted suppliers take care of themselves due to unfavorable issues. We are here to inform and help each other.

I buy from Valley View Farm in Berne and from TAS in Cobleskill but am actively seeking a new supplier. The coal I get from Valley View is Blaschak and full of water. The CAS coal is Kimmel or other non-branded coal which burns well but has high delivery costs. I think this year I will swear off Blaschak for good unless I can find someone who stores it inside.

I use Murray's in Sayre Pa. just over the border. They sell Reading coal. I have had very good luck and service from them. The last load I got was a bit heavy on the fines, but this was the first issue I have had. I'm not going to change suppliers because of one issue. We'll see after the next load or two.

I used to use Boychuck's in Painted Post. No issues with them either, but it's a lot further away than Murray's.

We buy tractor/trailer loads from Cornwall as well. 24 tons four years ago = good stuff and priced right and now another 24 tons - 4 years worth and it looks good. Why do I buy ahead like that? Hell, finding the money is hard but I promise you this my friends, this deflationary pit we are descending into will result in hyper inflation in a heart beat one day (Weimer on steroids - Google it). It gives me a sense of security seeing it there. Funny thing, I used to think that way about my pension but no more......... sooo Simon --- you are saying you would rather buy a pile of coal instead of stocks??????? Absolutely. Strange times we live in. :partyhat:

Champlain Coal in whitehall Ny, I've been purchasing from them for over 6 years, price has gone up, but so hasn't everything else, No other dealers I really know of close to South Glens Falls that delivers in bulk.

I buy bulk from M & M Coal in Fulton, NY. They deliver it at a reasonable price. No idea where the coal comes from...never asked.

Cornwall Coal has already been mentioned, but I'd like to mention them again. I've used them for several years and they are excellent. The phone number they post on the web is: 845-534-3808

These folk go above and beyond the "call of duty".

In Central NY near Norwich, Syracuse, Oneonta, Utica, in order of preference :

Chad Tredway, Smryna, NY (Chad will get you whatever you want, from wherever you want, and take it where you want it for a reasonable price. He also bags it if you like.)

Staelen's Coal, Solsville, NY (Traditional delivered bulk coal)

Mirabito Fuels, Sidney, NY (Reading dealer, traditional bulk delivered or bagged. a bit too pricey)

Dennis' Coals, Fabius, NY ( Bagged and bulk, pick up only)

Poso coal--near Cortland--Blaschak--I get bulk--3 T--plus 20-30 bagged--never had a water problem---he keeps it all under cover-pole barn for bulk & plastic for bagged---I get it half way through the summer--so, if there is any over wetness,by the time I use it it's fine

Mulholland Enterprises, LLC. Greenfield ny, near Sarotoga had advertised coal at 229.00 a ton. I believe earlier they had a ton of bagged rice at 260.00 a ton.

J & D Coal Heating in Fort Plain, NY has Blaschak coal. They store it inside. They are reasonably priced, both the coal prices and the delivery fee. Hope this helps you.
