The bureau of mines has a clock running on the coal mined in the US. It looks like we are useing about 100 tons every 5 seconds. That is a lot of coal!

whats even more amazing is seeing 100 tons of coal flood loaded under loading silo or seeing groups of coal gondolas dumped by a rotary coal dumper in less than ten seconds.
