Coal Prices 2010-2011?

I am concerned about all the bucks it would take me to drive 600 miles round trip for the amount of coal I could carry back with me versus having it delivered!!

I am also considering the bucks saved versus the $255 and $290 a ton picked up options available to me locally!!

Not that I would not like to come up that way and see everything at some point, but right now having it delivered will save me a lot of time, money and effort!!!

Oh! And not to mention the warm fuzzy feeling that comes from having several winters worth of fuel prepaid, stored up and ready to go!!!

With the way the Muslim in charge is driving this country it might cost twice as much next year!!! And that one little buck would be the least of my worries then!!!

I guess I should of looked at your local first . With that said are you buying T.T. load 22 or 25 tons If so they should give you a better price per ton on that load of coal that's were the buck I was talking about comes in should be at least 5 to 10 less per ton on a 22 to 25 ton load .

SD is getting the load delivered thru a broker...
Centralia Coal Sales Company...
Not direct from UAE with his own trucker...
So the middle man is getting the $10/ton for his pocket...
Will UAE do a 22+ ton direct sale and hook SD up with a trucker...
The broker might be worth the $220 to avoid the hassle of coordinating the coal/trucker/payment issue...
Unless 22 tons will earn him a discount larger than $10/ton...

I called UAE and they did not have any trucks they used and when I asked about any they recommended they did not seem to have any info on that available either.

UAE seems to be selling mostly to established customers right now so maybe that is the reason they did not look too hard. I hope to have better contacts by the time I need more coal and if they send an small transport company or independent driver I may very well keep their info for next time.

I will report back when it is all said and done, but so far dealing with Centralia has been pretty easy. John Howley/Howlee (sp?) the sales guy is on the road a lot and only in the office on Thursdays so we played phone tag for a couple of days and I think that they had something big going on because I slid to the back of the desk for about 10 days, but unless something else jumps up I have been pleased to work with them so far and would have no reason to not use them again.
