Virgina's Health Care Challenge

Virgina's Health Care Challenge

PostBy: lowfog01 On: Tue Aug 03, 2010 9:23 am

Good Morning all,

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08 ... latestnews

I wanted to bring this to your attention. VA has taken the lead in fighting this invasion of our liberty and we have won the first battle although there are many more to come. VA is not standing alone on this; eleven other states have joined the fight via a joint law suit coming out of Florida.

The two lawsuits are taking slightly different approaches with the VA suit focusing on the mandate - be it a tax or a fee - being unconstitutional. It asks (to paraphrase) can the federal government force you to engage in commerce so that they may then have control over that action through the interstate commerce clause of the Constitution. Think about it, if you don’t chose to indulge in commerce, can they force you to do so you fall under their control? Sounds like bull to me. I say if I chose not to indulge in commerce then I’m outside the reach of their control and there is nothing in the Constitution that gives the government the authority to force me to buy anything much less so they can control that action.

We do live in interesting times. The next hearing is OCT 19th and that’s when it really starts. Take care, Lisa

I hope that the "states" that do not want the health care to get what they want. Everyone will either move to a state that has it or does not have it and we can start dividing up the so called "United States of America". Sheesh I thought all we had to worry about was terrorist dividing this country but I guess we are not very damn "united" after all. Must be why every damn terrorist takes a shot at us.............easy to take a foe down that is divided and not united!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its official and VA passed prop C overwhelmingly.
Several other states are following the same route.
It will be interesting to see which Fed judge overrules the will of the people.

The will of the people has spoken, and I think that is good. Now let the division between states and or Party begin. I hope they let the state of Virgina and the people have there way, to live as they see fit, with the health care they want.

Do you have ANY idea what you are talking about?

The Health INSURANCE bill has nothing to do with health CARE.

I'd be more than happy to live in a state that doesn't force me to buy something.

You move to a state full of people with their hand out, and I'll live where people work for themselves, and we'll see who finishes where.

Add Missouri to the list : "It's the vote heard 'round the world," showing the measure passing with more than 70 percent of the vote.

Jiminey, where do you live? Haven't you been following the news or do you depend on the Mainstream Media for your information? Obamacare isn't about health care at all. It's about controling your actions from birth to death. It doesn't take much research to find out that this healthcare reform is going to destory the excellent system that we now have. Does everyone have health care insurance no, but everyone has access to great health care regardless of their financial standing. You can kiss that good bye. Have you even looked at the British or Canadian Systems? Sheesh...

The reason "every damn terrorist takes a shot at us" at us is that they know we won't do anything to stop them. It's the same as fighting a bully on the playground, don't fight back and it continues, fight the bully and he will leave you alone. Our enemies think Obama is a fool and they are right. They will continue to attack until we make them stop. The question is how many of us are going to die in the meantime. Lisa

If the health care system of now is so great then why does an aspirin cost 8 dollars when your in the hospital.

Lowfog the are men and women dying everyday right now in two wars so that you can say or write what you want so I don't think we are doing nothing at this time or do you want another war with another country or something? I don't want any war, if it was up to me I would be more like the Swiss, stay out of everything and everyone's business.

The health care system is great because you can actually get in the hospital to pay that $8 for your aspirin. The current system is not perfect, far from it, but it sure beats what the "government" has in store for us under Obamacare. That $8 aspirin will look cheap if this "reform" law is allowed to stand. Under Obamacare, you are going to be lucky to ever find a doctor much less step a foot inside the door. That’s been documented through numerous sources including the federal government. The new director of Medicare/Medicaid openly calls for rationing of medical assets for our elderly and encourages instead of providing a procedure that could painlessly extend lives for months or years, providing a pain pill. A look at the Canadian or the British systems should tell you how well that works.

Sheesh, I have to ask again, where do you live? No one wants war, that’s why we have an Army. The reason you have an army is so the bad guys leave you alone. Obama’s problem is that he doesn’t see things that way; the bad guys know he will not fight and they will use that knowledge to their advantage. Various sources report that Osama Bin Laden was convinced after the Clinton years of doing nothing that Bush wouldn’t do anything either and we got 9/11. Osama was shocked that the United States actually did something.

The idea that we can sit back and stay out of everything is very naïve. The enemies of this country - both foreign and domestic - will keep chipping away at the very foundation of this country unless we stand up and push back. We can fight it or we let it run us over. Me, I’ll fight it with whatever legal means I have. Lisa

The last letter I got from Osama said ...............................Now I have heard his spiel on your so called "main stream" media. Go do what you want when you want only half of the population is wrong at this point or so the "main stream" media says, at least thats how many voted.

Are you running for office lowfog?

You're right about the numbers - of the people voting slightly more then half went for Obama's hope and change and slightly half didn't. I think the most important thing to be learned from this is that elections have consequences. We will be paying for our lack of interest for many, many years. Another consequence to the election is today's Senate vote confirming Elana Kagen to the supreme court. We'll be living with that for years, too. I foresee many, many 4-5 decisions coming down the line.

No, I’m not running for office but I am involved with our local party and the 11 Congressional District campaign. I’m proud to be known on a first name basis with the office staff of our current representative; the one we are trying to throw out. :D Hopefully, when my small efforts are combined with everyone elses we will make a difference on NOV2. Have a great day, Lisa

Because there is no COMPETITION!

And the Federal government WANTS it that way. They use the "Commerce Clause" to force insurance companies to sell car, home, life, and every other insurance across state lines.

But when it comes to health insurance, suddenly they think the states should regulate it individually? Does that make sense to you?

I'd sure like to be able to buy health insurance across state lines. There's a great company in Washington state called "Q-liance". They charge around $100 per MONTH for a family plan. I pay more than that a WEEK!

http://www.qliance.com/prospective-pati ... works.html

If it was about "affordability", why would the state of New York shut down a doctor trying to make his services affordable?

http://www.vosizneias.com/28392/2009/03 ... ats/print/

New York, NY - The state is trying to shut down a New York City doctor's ambitious plan to treat uninsured patients for around $1,000 a year.

Dr. John Muney offers his patients everything from mammograms to mole removal at his AMG Medical Group clinics, which operate in all five boroughs. ....

His patients agree to pay $79 a month for a year in return for unlimited office visits with a $10 co-pay.

The market WORKS. Why is government standing in the way and demonizing people who can fix the problem? Because it's about CONTROL. It's about covering up their criminal behavior in bankrupting SS and Medicare.

VA, FL and some others are standing up & fighting this BS. Any guesses on MA's stance?

I hope things turn around in this state .... but due to all these wackjobs (excluding forum members) east of 495, I don't see that happening. I am soooo sick of all the laws thrown at us every other week! Now they are trying to limit LAWFUL citizens to ONE firearm purchase every 30 days! We already can't buy ammo ... never mind brass, gunpowder, or even AIR RIFLE AMMO online!!! Cabelas, Bass Pro ... NOT ONE will ship any gun related item to MA due to our frigged up government here. Only state in the union that does this!! MA gun dealers can't sell anything holding more than 10 rounds, nor can they sell guns that are "too affordable". Anything under $250 is considered a "Saturday Night Special", & is therefore illegal. Meanwhile criminals carry military grade weapons, clips over 10 rounds & get anything they want whenever they want, & LAW ABIDING CITIZENS GET PUNISHED FOR IT!!!!!!!! THIS IS THE LOGIC OF THE GOVERNMENT YOU ELECTED!!!!!!!!!!

Then to top it all off, Kagen gets appointed ... :what:

What country is this again??? Are we going to wake up anytime soon??? WTF!!!!!!!!!! :eek2:
