Fan

Hi after start up the fan is supposed to go to a slower speed after so many minutes. Mine does not. Also when I put the stove in shut down mode the fan continues to run and does not stop even after more than 1 hour. Is my fan on manual? How do I put the fan on auto? I forgot to say I have the Econo model. Thanks Dan

I guess a few questions first. I garher you are talking about the convection blower(room air blower). Is the blower plugged into the coal-trol convection fan outlet? If so you can check to see if your fan is on manual by holding the menu button for about 3- 5 seconds until the display says setup then use the menu button to toggle to FSA or FSM--. If it says FSA then the unit is in automatic fan mode. If says FSM (manual fan mode) followed by a number 1-99 (which is the percent the convection fan is running). If it is in manual mode depress either the up or down arrow to scroll to the FSA option. I do believe however that the unit is set to the automatic fan operation as a factory default.

If you do have the CoalTrol, Yes, the fan speed is based on Feed Rate (FR), as long as the Feed Rate is greater than 0, or the min setting Like 20 or 30, the fan will continue to run. Make sure you Setpoint is below the room temperature by a few degrees, once you FR is back down to Zero (Or min setting), the fan should shut down. As long as the stove is calling for heat, the fan should be running, either slow or at a higher rate depending.

Coal Takes a while to respond, so only make minor changes to your settings. It may take an hour or more for the system to stabilize temperatures.....

It sounds like you may have the convection fan plugged into the combustion fan outlet. To check this go into test mode:

Press and hold the menu button for several seconds, until the display shows the word "FEED". Then tap the menu button until the word "TEST" is displayed. When "TEST" is displayed, tap the up or down button one time to enter the Test Mode. This mode will cycle through all the outputs one at a time (automatically, about 5 seconds between each change) while displaying the name of the output that is turned on at the time. Make sure the motor that is running matches the display. If it doesn't, change the plugs into the control module so everything matches up.

If you believe you have the motors plugged into the right outlets on the coaltrol there may be two problems that the Test Mode will expose:

1) The outlet may have been mislabeled or the cord plugged into the wrong connection internally. In this case the color code on the cord will not match up with the test mode is saying. Just go with what the test mode says and plug the correct motor in for what is displayed on the screen.

2) If the convection is running all the time, even during the test mode, the internal wiring may be wrong or the circuit component that runs the convection output may be damaged. In this case you will have to arrange for a warranty replacement/repair. Call your stove dealer to arrange this or to get kicked up the line to Leisure Line direct.

If the test mode runs the right motors and one at a time, then you should call us at 315-299-3589 to get some help.

I cant run the stove at the moment as it is in a storage unit Im going to try and sell it soon. Because I need the cash and dont see my self owning a home again in the near future. So I would like to make sure it that it works correctly. Thanks Dan.

Sorry to hear that you've fell and hard times. Best of luck on getting back on your feet soon.

If you're talking about the combustion fan, then it is doing what it should be doing. It does not cycle to different speeds, it runs 100% constantly when the power switch on the control module is on.

You mentioned putting it into "shutdown" mode. I'm not sure what that is. There is a "burnout" mode available when you are using the optional igniter module, but that doesn't sound like it is in use in this case. If you can describe what you mean by shutdown mode we should be able to clear up the last point of confusion.
