I'm not sure if this is thoughtful, intelligent or much of a debate issue--BUT--if anyone has tried any remidies for Tinnitus & found any relief,I sure would appreciate hearing about it I've probably had this since I came back from the Nam & my best description of symptoms would be a 1 lb coffee can full of P O'd crickets

I have it as well, the intensity varies. I sleep with the fan running at times.
I've heard this advertised although I haven't tried it:

Does Zinc really help? I've had Tinnitus for a long time and it is steadily getting worse. To many years in loud Locomotive Cabs, the diesels are worse than the steam engines, I've been on both and they aren't good for your ears.Sting wrote:Start taking Zink daily
It upset my stomach - so I cut the pills into pcs and worked my way up in dosage
Thanks for the tip.

I've tried a bunch--the quiet relief thing didn't work for me,plus they want an arm & a leg after the good deal 30 days runs out --think I'll give the zinc a try--I've probably drank way to much JD in my life to have it upset my stomach Thanx for the advice guys

I don't have tinnitus but many of the folks in my industry do. "White noise" like a fan in the background seems to give relief for some. I know it used to help me drown out the daytime noises when I was trying to sleep working night shift.

Fred, have you ever gone to the V.A. about this, I know a lot of vets don`t like to go there but I guess I`ve been spoiled by the good care I got at the small Meadville clinic & the Erie VA, I still wouldn`t go back to the one in Pittsburgh, maybe its the smaller ones that do better. It`s worth a shot anyway. When I was last there for a hearing test one of the things they asked was if I had any ringing in my ears.
