Going to DC on August 28th?

My wife and I are going to Restoring Honor Rally on Saturday. I hear they are expecting about 700,000. We shall see......literally.

Can't go but I'll be interested to hear your report. I'm betting the lamestream media will under-report the number there, if they report on it at all. A lot of people love to hate Glenn Beck, but I've been impressed with the quality of the research he and his staff do on the topics he covers. Much better than average.

I wanted to go to this soooo bad!! I tried to get a crew assembled to head down, but everyone I know is in a similar financial situation , so not gonna happen. :( Money I, & everyone else could have spent going to this historic event was spent on increased fees & taxes in MA.

I printed out the 8/28 poster & stuck it on my house a month or so ago, to show my support & to get the word out.

Can't wait to see how CNN, MSNBC, et. al. spin this one ....

Smitty, I haven't checked availability or prices. In the past a round trip to other events from CT has been from 50 to 75 bucks. Same day round trips are a LONG day but doable.

I'll bring my camera and post some pics a day or two after I get back like I did for some of the other rallies.

Saturday's get together

My father had a plaque on the wall. It said, best I can remember, "Say nothing, Do nothing, Be nothing." I think he would of approved of Glenn Beck.

That squirell was bugged by the White House!!

Looks like it was quite a turnout! Even NBC reported on it on the Nightly News. Of course they had to go back in time & pull up stuff that Beck had said 3 years ago, then segway into Al Sharpton ripping on Beck for "stealing the day ... & we ain't gonna let 'im!" ... while Beck was trying to unite the country without the bickering & slander. Sharpton made himself look like a colossal ass, once again.

Wow, you got a lot closer then we did! We tried to call and txt but there were so many cell phones in use the circuits quickly became overwhelmed. We were on the west overflow lawn about 2/3s of the way down the reflecting pool. Fortunately, the organizers had Jumbotrons set up about every 3 or 4 hundred yards so we could hear and see everything. The people were so thick that if you left your group you ran the chance of not being able to find them again.

What great day! While hot there was no humidity and a small breeze. There are a lot of sunburned people running around today. Without a doubt we were blessed. I think the MSM (Mainstream Media) is missing the big story in this gathering of like minded individuals. For me that story is that a black woman, the niece of Martin Luther King, Jr. was able speak to the legacy of Dr King to a majority white crowd and be cheered for her message of unity of one race - the human race. This woman faced death threats and scorn from her own family in order to do so. And to have this happen in less then 50 years after the "I have a dream speech" speaks volumes about the people in the country. We HAVE made huge strides in race relations in this country and that can not be denied try as they might.

That the MSM is silent on this story speaks volumes about them and how they see the country and how they want the general population to see it. They want to show an America divided by race and politics but they won't show the real story, the story we saw unfolding on the Mall yesterday. It was a great day and I'm glad I didn't miss it. Lisa

I really was NOT that close. Well maybe I was ...I was in the overflow under trees to the left of the stage. ( My camera was on max zoom ) I would say this was the south west side? Yea, the phones were busy all day. Originally I went behind the stage but decided this was not a good spot. So I squeezed around to the front side.
I would have to believe there were at least 500,000 on site. But the MSM is reporting under 100k.

Ahhh, sleep. The last thing to do before I leave the motel is download some pictures. Thanks to lowfog01 and her husband, my wife and I had a great time before and after the main event. Here are some more pictures. Duengeon master called me many times before he could get threw to me. We found each other almost at the very end of the event and had to go our separate ways right after. Here are some pics.
