GRRRR!!! :mad3: :mad3: :mad3: :mad3:

This company should be put out of business!!!

OK ...the abbreviated version:

Back in '07 when I bought my truck, I get 90 days free. 90 days is up, I sign on for 3 years -- think it was about $310 back then. Now the 3 years is up, & they send out a renewal notice. Says I don't need to do anything - it will automatically renew. SO I call them the day I receive the notice & tell them to cancel. Total would have been over $500 for 3 years. I said screw that! Well, it took about 30 minutes to finally get ahold of someone. Then, every other word out of their mouths was " well, we can keep you on for $480 .... how about $450 ... how about $445.... hold on sir, I'm going to transfer you", then they cut me off, put me on hold for another 10 minutes, and another jackoff gets on the phone and starts THE SAME EXACT PITCH AS THE LAST ONE!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!! SO I stayed calm and said no no no no no no!!! about 1000 times.

So here I am today 3 weeks later...... just figured I'd check my credit card balance since I haven't used the card in a while. There's a charge on 8/10 for $463!!!!! So call the card company and tell them that was an unauthorized charge. They call XM ... they say I authorized it. Now I'm pissed!! It;s a good thing these pricks aren't anywhere near here ..... Anyway, card company connects me with XM ...... so on phone with XM AGAIN and they're denying that I ever called!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Then the guy says "oh there was a call on 6/25" ... I say "AND WHAT WAS THAT FING CALL REGARDING???" He says " terminating the service". THERE YA GO!!! I said.

They did the same exact thing to a buddy of mine. There's also a whole list of similar complaints out there if you search online. How the hell does a company get away with this *censored*?!?!?!?! It's just like dealing with the state of MA!! Are they running XM/Sirius radio???? WTF!!!!

If I hadn't checked my balance I would have had late fees, finance charges & penalties on top of all that!! I probably would have driven to NYC & kicked their door in ....

I hear you loud and cleaar Smitty! Here's my Sirius sagga but no charges yet.

I've received both email and snail mail reminders to re-up. I have 3 subscription: a portable unit, internet access and my 09 F-150. Here's what I was offered for the Everything package:

3 yr. @ 12.95/mo. + 9 months free. Tax and fees total = $ 330.31

2 yr. ... tax and fee total = $ 227.36

Lifetime $ 499, tax and fee total = $ 616.85 5 installments of $123.37 available.

I asked when my truck's sub ran out and she said it's dead now. I was just lising to it a few hours ago. Hmmm. When I got the truck 10/09 the Sirius radio was on. I received a free six month offer if I called before the first six month ran out. I called in Feb. 2010 and they didn't even have the unit listed as turned on. I busted myself! :censored: Long story short, I hung up. I'll see what happens, maybe it will just keep on working. I did tell them I've heard others quoted $399 lifetime and all she did was stammer.

I bought a new Chevy Silverado last December that came with a 3 month free XM radio subscription. I didn't re-new. Other than annoying e-mails and phone calls to sign up I haven't had problems.

I do have problem with the radio's reception on FM. Piss poor reception, good only for strong local FM station. My other GM vehicle receives the stations loud and clear. Could there be deliberate effort to reduce FM reception so you will stick with the paid XM?

Best I can tell there is no FM antenna. It may be a part of the windshield but I'm not really sure. I've tried to determine if an aftermarket FM antenna could be added with no luck. Anyone have a similar story?

My truck had an under the dash rattle that the dealer fixed under warranty. A bracket was missing. Perhaps he "F-uped fixed" the radio too.

This seems to be the normal thing a lot of these business's do. I had to get dial up for few days after the fire and canceling it was like a night mare. I actually had two because the first one didn't work that great.

Earthlink was a little frustrating because they had link for canceling it and the link goes ...... <drum roll> a page offering me more services. I think they also had some limits on the hours for phone call, normal business hours so I had to wait until the next day to get them on the phone.

NetZero was absolute nightmare, took maybe 5 minutes to get through the menu and I'm hold for about 10 minutes and.....dead line. Call back again and wait another ridiculous amount of time and finally a human is on the other end and they are going through the "We can offer you this..." routine. Cancel it... "But why do you..." Cancel the *censored* thing! Then they put me on hold for 10 minutes, then it's another 10 minute hold. They must have been waiting for me to hang up.

Went through the exact same thing with DirecTV. When I first moved here satellite TV was my only option. But a few years later cable came down the line and was a LOT cheaper, especially when bundled with the internet. Would save me about $1200 a year by my figures. Called, got the run around, and was told my contract was renewed a year ago when I "ordered" new equipment. I got new equipment because their #)(%*)# DVR hard drive took a #)(%*. Finally argued enough that they said they would NOT charge me $450 in early termination fees.

Few weeks later on the CC you guessed it....$450 charge for early termination. Called them back...they were so sorry...they could cut me a check in 6-8 weeks to fix that. I told them bull)#%( if they charged my card they could credit it back. They assured me there was no possible way they could fix it now because I was "out of the system." I said there was no way I was paying it, nor was I going to get charged a finance charge because I didn't have an extra $450 laying around to pay off my card until they got off their ass.

Got off the phone with them...contacted the Better Business Bureau for my area. The impossible $450 was back on my card by the end of the week. Mother #)%(*@)(@s

I just can't believe they get away with this. Not only that, but the tactic of leaving you on hold for 45 minutes! Each time I called ... including the transfer from the credit card company ... involved 45 minutes total time on the phone with these *censored*. I hope they go bankrupt!

That wouldn't surprise me at all, although my FM reception seems to be fine. I've had satellite since the truck was new, so never really spent all that much time on FM. After it's gone, I probably still won't. I'll just hook up an ipod or Zune with a month's worth of songs -- won't hear the same one twice in a month, so it'll be better than satellite! 8-)

Sounds like you were offered a much better deal than I was! That lifetime fee was only 3 years for me -- that's why I told them to ram it. Good deal on the free satellite thought! If I were you I wouldn't call them again. Don't feel bad ripping them off, because they WILL do it to you, when given the opportunity.

I think I was growling more than whining ... :D ;) Your right -- gotta stay on top of everything nowadays. Verizon is famous for trying to rip you off a few cents here, a dollar there -- if you don't look closely at your bill, you'll get porked! Same with the state of MA's Fastlane passes (electronic tolls - no stopping). Every so often I'll get whacked 100x the toll I should have been charged. You call them up & they take it right off, but you have to be alert -- & read your statements! Everyone is a crooked son of a bitch these days.

AOL is by far the worst to deal with...
I ask all my computer customers if they are still paying AOL fees...
Even after they have been on Cable or DSL internet for years...
I get about 3 people a year still paying a monthly fee to AOL...

Sounds like XM got their tutoring from AOL!

So here's the latest. After arguing with a couple clowns at XM about this charge that I posted about prior, I check my card balance today. There's $9.29 left! Can you believe this company??? They just won't give up!!! They stick the knife in your back, then give it a twist, while laughing at you & stealing your wallet in the process!!! They are trying to charge me for their unauthorized charge on my card to continue a service that I had already called to cancel ahead of time!!!

Just got off the phone with the credit card co. They are going to credit this amount back to me, thankfully. They even said it was pointless to contact them a 3rd (or 4th? lost track ..) time.

$9 friggin dollars! What a company!! I still can't believe this whole ordeal even happened!! I hope people read this before they give one cent to this sham company. Your money will be better spent on an Ipod!! SATELLITE ISN'T WORTH THE BULLSHIT!!

I hold my middle finger high at XM / Sirius Radio! bop2

When we bought the Honda CRV it came with 3 free months of XM. I asked for it to be turned on the following March so we'd have it while on vacation. Come March...no XM. I called them up to remind them to turn it on. "Your free 3 months ended months ago". What?? I tool them I never listened to it, not for one minute. I never knew it was on! They said the dealer authorizes it and it gets turned on automatically. I gave them so much grief they relented and gave me a free month. After that month I did not buy into it.

Your missing the point when you when you say 9 friggin dollars Smitty, if they do the same & get away with it to a million others their making some serious money. As consumers we can`t allow these outlaws to get away with it, you did the right thing letting others know whats going on.

I have a similar story while attempting to cancel a cell phone account with AT&T back in 2007. Similar story, forever on hold, I can't cancel, we are having a storm, I don't know how to cancel, etc. It took months & months. I gave up & stopped using the phone but the monthly fees continued. The new bills went to a collector. When they called, I told them to stick the bill where no sun shines. Funny, I never did hear back from them.
