Has anybody ever come across a Fitzgibbons boiler, tube style, open bottom, but with no fire door? This is possibly a boiler made for underfiring with oil.

Oil or Gas both would have the viewing door on the base.
Fitz gibbon Boiler Co. Made boiler tops for a lot of Different Co. Not Just for EFM.
Also Fitz gibbon made the Highboy efm 520 1948 to 1954. As well as most of the AP 520 for efm back in the 50's 60's Just because it as Fitzgibbon on the boiler top does not mean it is a coal fired boiler or does it mean it is a Highboy efm 520 or any standard coal fired efm 520.

It's not a highboy. It's also slightly bigger than the standard base.

Somebody went for a ride on this deal. I'm sure the dealer will rectify this situation.

The Person that bought it should of known what he was buying before he bought it .
Especially if the buyer buys a sell used boilers .
Buyers fault not the sellers fault.
PS I know it is not a Highboy Because they where made from 1948 to 1954 for EFM .
The boiler your talking about is a 1959. The buyer should know what he is buying or at least make a effort to find out what it is before he buys anything
