Nope, I'll be in Manhattan for the anti-mosque rally. Bring your sun screen and lots of water. We are supposed to be back in the low 90s all next week. Lisa

Will you be protesting all the mosques near Ground Zero or just the one Glenn Beck told you to go to (which isn't even a mosque)?

Well welcome back! I'm afraid once again you've gotten me wrong. :( You see the difference between you and me is that I don't need anyone to tell me what to do or what to think. I'm an adult, I know the difference between right and wrong and I'm quite capable of making my own decisions; whether it be about health care or any other subject you want to bring up. You on the other hand seem to always be spewing the Liberal talking points as if you've never had a clear or concise thought of your own. You can parse words all you want but the proposed building near ground zero IS a mosque and is meant to be a forceful gesture of radical Islam's middle finger.

You should read up on your history. The fact is that in every country that radical Islam has won a big battle or captured a major city they have taken an existing religious building and built a mosque on top of it. No, the World Trade Towers isn't considered a religious symbol by the US but it is where radical Islam finds the heart of the evil western culture. That's why they targeted it. Duh.

I'm actually looking forward to visiting NYC. As you know we lived in Bayonne for a couple of years and spent a lot of time in the city. I've always found NYC to be a nice place to be from and a nice place to visit. We try to get up there at least once a year, usually around Christmas. If fact, I ate lunch at the food court in the WTTs two weeks before 9/11. I went back again in DEC '01 because it was the right thing to do - you know help the local economy. The WTT site was still smoldering then, I'll never forget it. If it were up to me the WTT would have already been rebuilt years ago but one floor higher. That's the monument we need to put there.

Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend. Lisa

Yeah, libs don't understand thinking for themselves -- at all. So they figure everyone else is like them. The movement as a whole is full of followers. It's painfully apparent, now that they're in charge ...

This will be another event that I'm gonna have to let slip by. Take lots of pics & post when you get back, Mr1 & Lisa. I can at least live vicariously through you guys with the pics. 8-)

Lisa, As much as you want to click your heels together and wish it to be true, it's a community center. If you want to call it a mosque, I presume you also call the YMCA a church?

And you never answered my question, will your group also be putting your Islamophobia on display at the existing mosque that is around the corner from the planned community center? Have you planned any demonstrations at the Pentagon to voice your concern that "potential terrorists" employed there are allowed to use the prayer room?

And have you and your merry gang of fellow Islamophobes asked the 9/11 families how they feel about your planned demonstration on 9/11? A cursory scan of NY area news outlets indicates they aren't very happy about it and feel you and your ilk are being rather disrespectful of them. But that should be no surprise, your side has tried to politicize 9/11 since 9/12/2001.

You keep calling me an Islamophobe. Why? Is it because I choose my friends and acquaintances with discretion? Being particular about whom I associate with is what keeps me safe and happy. Do you ask a teenager to hang out with gangs or druggies so he doesn’t appear to be discriminating against them? No, vigilance against evil is what we do and teach our children to keep them and ourselves safe in a dangerous world. Why would my relationships with radical Islamists be any different? Their number one goal after all is to kill infidels, aka anyone not agreeing with them.

Since you are so concerned be assured I doubt we will be directing our efforts to either the existing Mosque or the multi-denominational prayer room at the Pentagon. Contrary to your claims of our “Islamophobia” it appears that neither of these places has ties to radical Islam or the groups that attacked this country on 9/11. It is that group of Islamists that we choose not to associate with; just as we choose not to associate with active or past members of the KKK. Strange as it may seem to you, the one thing that all the highjackers of 9/11 had in common was that they were all radical Islamists. To the best available knowledge, neither the existing Mosque nor the Pentagon prayer room is affiliated with or receiving funding from radical Islam groups. That can’t be said about the proposed Mosque. The Imam of the proposed Mosque has ties to radical Islam and has blamed America for 9/11.

Give me a break, even you have to acknowledge that NYC news outlets are biased and have a liberal slant. No matter, in fact, for every 9/11 family that has come out against this rally, a 9/11 family has spoken out in support of it. It all depends on what media source you’re listening to.

I have a question for you - Why there? Of all the places in NYC, NY State and the entire country why build it there? Lisa

Not to rain on anyones parade but if one would listen to a entire statement of this Imam that everyone claims blamed the U.S. for the 9/11 bombings he was referring to the reasoning of bin laden that the CIA after using him shafted him & that is why he started hateing the U.S. & became a hero of the radicals. It was the CIA that made him a leader to fight against the Russians, there are even some reports that he was in the U.S. taking CIA tours of military bases & equipment.

Wait. There are "reasons" behind 9/11 other than an ephemeral "they hate our freedoms"?

I'm shocked! SHOCKED I say!
