Does anyone have a manual for a Jotul 507b. I need to know what it weighs to decide if I am up to loading it for myself.

The 507 is about 225--235 pounds... If you remove the doors, the top of the stove and the grate one person can move the stove. With two people its not bad at all. 8-)

oldsawmillguy:

I have a complete manual for the 507b. The exact weight of the stove is 231 lbs. When I purchased my three Jotul's I took off the doors, top, removed the grate, ash pan, cast inserts above the brick, cast insert behind the middle door and then lifted it and carried it into the house. It is still heavy, however, if you move fast it isn't that bad. If you want to reduce more weight you can remove the cast deflector shield located in the top of the stove. The Jotul is a great stove. What color stove did you purchase? I have two green and one red one. I have the manual as a digital file, so pm me if you want me to send you the file. I hope this helps. p.s. we need some pics of your stove.

I am an old guy with a sawmill. The weight is less than I thought. I will strap it to a handtruck, tilt, and slide it into my vehicle. I heat with a Hitzer 30/95 and an old Sierra woodstove with a hot water coil. I bought the Jotul to try to heat my shop. I have been using a barrel stove but it is starting to rust out. I will post some pics sometime soon. Thanks a lot for the information. I have loaded 600 lb stoves by myself. Strap to a pallet and use a come-a -long to pull it up a plank ramp.
My setup for hot water is a coil in my woodstove to preheat water in a range boiler in series with my electric HW heater. Sometimes I can be pulling 165 degree water into my electric hw heater. To hot for humans. So I put a thermostatic mixing valve on the discharge side of my electric HW heater. This works flawlessly and delivers water at the temperature I set. (115 degrees). During the winter months My electric bill was less than $ 100/ month. I am thinking of replacing my woodstove with a multifuel Hitzer model 82. Does anyone have any experience with these? I gather they are strictly radiant.

Just joined the forum. Looks like a great site. Anyway, I've been a 507B owner for over 30 years and also never had a manual. Sooooo...if I could get a digital source for a free one it would be greatly appreciated. Saw Snowman's post that he had a source. Any chance my red 507 brother could help me out too?
