anyone heard of crawford stoves ? they look alot like a glenwood .

Crawford was made by Walker & Pratt of Boston, I believe and they made Base Heaters similar to the Glenwood. If I found one in good shape for a good price and it was the size that I needed, I would probably buy it. Have you found one? Can we see photos of it? A few years ago a forum member stirred up some attention here when he had questions about his Walker brand Base Burner. It was an almost identical copy of a Glenwood # 111.

their is a #2 crawford on boston MA craigslist for 750 $ . looks like it's in good shape .

I just looked at the Crawford Base Burner you mentioned. For that price I would snap that up NOW. That's just like a Glenwood #111 and that stove would be more than enough to heat a large house. I would buy that in a heart beat.
