Guy--

Cap's in. I've been too busy riding the bike to read this foum in the past 30 days. ''

I'll pass on the Yuengling tour and meet you at the bar! :':P'
BTDT.

I'll be riding the KLR650. Let's find a camp site. I need to buy a one man tent for some future trips anyway. I'll start looking for a nearby state park.

This sounds fun, count me in. I won’t be riding a bike, I’ll be in a Jeep Wrangler with a trailer. I’m two hours away, so I will just drive over and drive back. I won’t be able stay all day long, sometime in the afternoon I’ll have to head back.

I’m in on the Yuengling tour, it’s truly my favorite brew. I’m in on the tour of the region, especially anything mining and coal related. I’m also in on visiting a local breaker for some premium coal country anthracite, at summer prices.

If people are driving in for the whole weekend and are looking for something to do, consider the Lackawanna Coal mine tour. It’s not right next door, but isn’t far. They take you down in a retired mine.

I don't think a breaker will be open for business on a Saturday. The one I purchase from closes at 2p on Fridays for the w/e's in the winter. Lucky to be open at all after 2p on any weekday. You'd better call ahead.

That's better than a hour away, I believe this was mentioned by someone else but the pioneer tunnel tour is closer:

Wish I had thought of this sooner but your camping idea actually gave me an idea. I have access to some land on the river that is pretty well centrally located for both the New Yorkers and people from PA. Possibly an idea for next year, bathroom and shower facilities, river right there if you want to fish. The Lackawanna Mine tour is only about 1/2 hour away. BTW there is also quite an extensive mining museum there and Steamtown is only a few minutes away too. So if you want to leave it for next year maybe we can do that.

Still not sure if I'll be able to make it this year but I'll try.

Here's a pic from about a 1/4 of mile upriver from the place I'm speaking of.

Update info :) , planning on being there late Fri evening, The wife gets a good rate at the Comfort Inn at Pine Grove, It has a indoor pool to keep the kids busy if needed for both nights of the tour. Put me down for 3 ton of nut for Sat morning and a trailor drop, then the tour.

This is our first vist to the coal country so I'm looking forward to it. The only thing that I can't decide on which route to take the  Pike($15.00) or I-80 which I havent driven in years when it was really beat up. I'm from about 20 miles northeast of PIttsburgh. but don't drink the IRON.

That's the "Mighty Susquehanna" near a little town called Meshoppen off of Rt. 6 . Rt. 6 runs east west across Northern Pennsylvania.
