.

This weekends discussion brings up Hudson Anthracite co.
mike wrote:The farthest north breaker is hudson anthracite near pittston. The coal is good, there might be some better breakers out there but I never heard of anybody getting a bad load from here.
Richard S. wrote:We dealt exclusively with Hudson for about 15 years (i.e. a couple hundred thousand ton ;) ) because they consistently had good coal. As I posted above it may be a little more than others in the area but its worth the extra bucks. You won't find a better product in the Wyoming Valley and it can certainly compete with others outside the Valley, just might be a little more than if you traveled further south but the time and gas will make up for the difference.

Wrong emblem ;) , Hudson Coal is a very old company that has gone out of business many years ago. They have no affiliation with Hudson Anthracite.

When is the last time someone on here bought Jeddo out of Hazleton? I bought 4 ton in the fall from there and I burned it last year also. It has probably been the best coal in this area that I burned. I know there is alot better the farther south you go, but it is too far of a drive. Has there been problems with jeddo? I want to purchase 2 more ton to finish out the year.

I burned some really BAD Jeddo coal, rice size..last year. But several forum members have reported what you did: very good coal. So if you are happy with what you bought in the past, I'd just ask them if the coal is coming from the same source as it was when you bought the last time, and if so, buy some more.

I'm almost positive the rice coal I bought was a high percentage from culm, piles, it had 20+% ash and unburnable coal.

Getting Anthracite from Rural Energy Products out of Van Wert Ohio , paying 315.00 per skid ( 60 , 40lb bags ) so a little over a ton per skid and being delivered to me ( wilmington Ohio ) about 3 hours one way , I have had no issues at all so far ( burnt about 20 + bags so far )
