im paying $290.00 a ton in central maine for kimmels nut and pea and it seems to leave a lot of half burned chunks. unfortunately the only place close enough that sells blaschak (which i just burned for 4 days and left only true ash) ive found is $340.00 a ton. you might think it was platinum. anyway i literally went from emptying the ashpan twice a day to emptying once after 40 hours.

Would like to take a ride one of these Saturdays up to coal country and get a pickup truck load. Can anyone give me a name of a good coal yard.

Here locally and depending on the delivery guy

$120 Per Ton for Low volatility Red Ash from the Harmony Mine
$140 Per Ton for Pea with a lot of rock in it from Lenigs Coal
$160 Per Ton for The Real Deal White Ash from Blaschak (Well worth the extra cost)

HEY coalstoves where is the local of the harmony mine Iam outside of pottsville I would be interrested in going up there to pick up a few tons for that price my price down here goes from 130-140 per ton pick up I just picked up a ton today at blasckak in ravine first time payed 140 my normal breaker is superior coal out in hegins 140 but red ash i like red more b.t.u. for me.

Stopped by the Harmony Mine today and picked up a ton of the Low volatility Red Ash still holding the price at $120 a ton they indicated sales have been brisk and at times they are low on the rice, when I was there they had about 4 maybe 5 Ton .
Bear in mind this is Low volatility Red Ash and can be problematic in some hand fired stoves that sometimes depending on atmospheric conditions drop to only marginal draft conditions as in the Franco Belge and Victory heaters or units with small chimneys, for the stoker it's great I use it in my Harman but in my Victory it's the damndest thing you ever saw it just kinda lies there and slowly dies other days it's great for my Victory I use Blaschak and it always burns . Local Rumors abound that an increase in price is near but we ain't seein it yet

I'll believe it when I see it, coal prices have always been stable. The largest increase I have even seen was about $15 over a 2 or 3 week period when Katrina hit which was primarily due to the increase in fuel prices. However that was coupled with the normal rate increase at that time of the year so in essence it was a jump of $5.
