Honeywell Aquastat with the outfire sensor

Hey fellas

I know it has been discussed on this forum before....

What is the number for the honeywell a-stat that has the outfire sensor on it. I need one that uses the well inside the boiler. Can I just unclip the old one out of its well and install the new one in the same well???

Also will this same model number work for both my 520 and my 1300..... thinking of buying one for the 1300 and getting another for the 520 later on.

I dont get outfires very often.... hardly at all really.... but when I do Im never around and until I get to it is has emptied the entire barrel of coal in the ash tub and you know what for pain in the arse that is to clean up.

You're looking for an L6006A. You should be able to use any well and it would work on any boiler.

Well okay....

I have the thing here in front of me now staring at it.....

Anyone know how to wire one of these things up? The old ones I got to know pretty well. Has the Z and R, Line terminals, etc. And this new one appears to only have 3 terminals for wires. Just wondering how this works..... I dont need some sort of adapter do I? Also where do the thermostat wires go?

It did come with a diagram to wire it, but I never was any good at reading them.... more or less taught myself how.

Look at the top of page 8. It's the first control in the circuit.

Oooookay.....

A little bit confused. Does this mean that I need to set up the L6006A as the primary control, and then the wires run from it to a junction box, and from there they run to the regular aquastat that I am using now?

I guess then that I need to drain the boiler and install a new well that is a separate one from the one I am using now????

I thought the L6006A was supposed to be a replacement and it wired up like the old one.

You can strap the bulb of your "A" aquastat to a supply pipe and wrap it with black foam and tape if you don't want to install a new well. That's how I use mine and it works well.

The 6006 is the first place electricity goes to in the circuit and you need to install a switch to bypass it so you can make the stoker run when the boiler water is below the limit. After it's up to limit, you flip the switch and the entire operation is controlled by the 6006. If the water temperature in the boiler goes below your low limit, the entire operation shuts down.
