Adjustable Clothes Rack (up & down)

Adjustable Clothes Rack (up & down)

PostBy: Richard S. On: Mon Oct 11, 2010 11:03 am

What I'm looking for is something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/33-Pull-down-Wardrobe-Lift-1080/dp/B0029L3TN8
This link is broken, either the page no longer exists or there is some other issue like a typo.

I'm guessing that is junk and I want to mount it to the ceiling anyway. Any ideas for something similar? I'm not afraid to take some hardware and modify it for my own needs either spring loaded, hydraulic or whatever.

Something like that they might have for garages or other uses I could use for this?

It doesn't have to be super beefy, something that would be a le to handle about a 7 foot rack.

How about a pulley system like that used to lift bicycles or kayaks up in a garage...

Just swap a 7' 1.5" black iron pipe for the ladder and you will be all set for under $100...

Better picture of the pulley setup...
7' of clothes may excede the 125# limit of these systems...
Bet you could rig one yourself for much less...

I thought about using pulleys with counterweights already but I want something easy to use, easy up and down.... something you can use fast.

That's what I'm looking for but hopefully something easier to use e.g spring or hydraulically assisted. Even motorized. :D

I';m thinking I'll have to just make it myself becaue I won;t find what I'm looking for. I could go off that and maybe rig up a small winch for it.
