the flue size coming off the back of my stove measures 6.5 inches I called hitzer and they said I need the 7-6 reducer. there is alot of play when you try to put a 7" reducer on a 6.5" opening, what do I do about that?

6.5" OD--I've got a 6" T on mine with crimpet part going into the stove--cap on the bottom & 6" black pipe going up to ceiling where double wall starts---crimped always goes towards the stove---maybe old school, but,it's what I do ;) I can't imagine Dean telling you that unless he thought you were coming to the stove w/ 7" pipe & needed the reducer from the pipe to the stove

Freetown fred is right. The crimped end of the stovepipe goes to the stove. The 6 1/2" you are measuring is the Outside Diameter. The Inside Diameter should measure 6".This is where you would slide in the crimped end of the pipe. I have a Buck Model 24 Coal Stove and it has the same set up with the crimped end of the stovepipe toward the stove.

it wasnt dean that told me it was who ever answerd the phone (lady). im sure it was a misunderstanding on how I explained it. so just shove the crimped part into the stove and stick a sheet metal screw in the hole to secure it.
