This state never ceases to amaze me - EMERGENCY DRIVER LICEN

You have got to be kidding. While trying to figure out these TOP SECRET codes placed on my wife's new MA drivers license, I stumbled upon this gem -- anyone 14 .......... YES FOURTEEN!!! years of age or older can apply for an emergency drivers license in MA.

But wait ......... I thought driving was a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT??? This sort of sounds like driving is a RIGHT to me ... :gee:

Keep your eyes peeled for 14 year old illegal immigrants behind the wheel while your on your motorcycle ... :eek2: :eek2: :fear:

Except, that if you actually look at the form - the emergency drivers license is for Oregon. I don't think Mass would recognize it.

Way back when I got my license, the minimum driving age in Maine was 15. Now it is 16. I recall there was something called a "farm license" that would let people drive earlier, but only on agricultural business. It looks like the Oregon license is primarily to let kids get to school.

There are still relaxed inspection laws for farm vehicles in Maine -- basically you can drive a rust bucket as long as the running gear is good, but only within 20 miles of the farm. If you see a dilapidated truck with the town name painted on its doors, you know it's one of them.

West Virginia is or was the same way. all you needed is a sign saying farm vehicle on the door. In Florida you can get a junior license at 15 1/2. My youngest son is 16 and wants his permit!!! Lord help me!!!!! My pickup is a stick shift. Smitty how much to put a new clutch in an 05 tacoma? :out:

Not sure what anyone else is charging for that, but that sounds like a $350 job I could do in my driveway. ;) LAst one I did was a early 90's Toyota. Did it laying on the pavement in Phoenix, 110°F out. I had help & it still sucked ...

NH was the same way when I went to UNH...
Makin' money workin' for a nearby farmer...
She asked me to drive the flatbed Ford back to the apple storage shed...
With a full load of apples
As I got in to drive she asked...
You do know how to double clutch and down shift, right?
Shur...
I had a '74 HD F-250 4x4 with stick and a 390 at the time...
Good she said the brakes are *censored* on that truck and do not drive thru Durham...
Quite the adventure...
