I have built a gravity feed coal bin, and it worked great, and it wasn't meant for basement only stoves,I'll post pictures later.
However most coal users don't have their stoves in the basement, and some don't even have a basement. Automating coal movement up in elevation 5 feet, and turning corners allows coal to truly compete with other type of fuel.
I thought one of the functions of this forum is to promote coal usage, and help those users, and not necessarily shut down innovation.
