It looks like you got the starting it all down pat BUT :o If you want the fire to make it till morning you better fill it up to the top of the fire brick or it will be dead and cold in the morning.

It will smoke some more when you bring it past 400*...
Just beware...
Gotta love the real wood charcoal... :D

I go through this every year to burn off the LPS-3. That is some tough stuff right there! Takes several trips over the 350°mark to make the oil sheen go away.

A few of us old farts do the pre-burn outside. New stoves, especially. Poor dawg's always get the blame....... :idea: :!: :shock:

Must be roasting in the house at 500*...

Have you 'freed-up' the window runners so that the 'window-stats' can be adjusted easily?
Oh, did you spend the night in the house, and your significant other went to friends while the house 'airs out'?

I hope your pets were not traumatized too badly by the odors and fumes. The learning cure will flatten out in the next few days, and all will be forgiven. :idea: 8-) :lol: :!: :o
