Cool Coal Photos

PostBy: Richard S. On: Wed Nov 10, 2010 8:10 pm

What we're looking for here is unique and interesting photos that have something to do with coal. For example here is two of my favorites posted by WNY and I don't even like Cats!

This had originally bee slated to be a competition but wasn't a lot of interest, it's now just the "Cool Coal Photos" topic.

I'll see how it goes but I don't want to overwhelm the poll when it comes time mostly because it will be a lot of damn work. :) If we don't have a lot of submissions I'll open it up for some more.

This is a old saw used to do the under cut of coal deposits before the miner would drill around and put in explosives to remove the coal boulder. Then pick axe apart and load on coal mine cars.

This poto was published in the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin on December 19, 1984 and is from our family scrapbook. Susan Ostrom took the picture and gave me permission for submission.

Every time I go see Bob over at American I try to get him to put more than half a ton in my '99 Dodge Dak sport and he laughs at me and says that is all he will allow. Now I see why. LOL...that's awesome.
