For those that have seen the previews (or the movie) of Unstoppable (Denzil Washington), about a runaway train, this was filmed in our local town and surrounding towns last summer/fall. It was pretty neat to see. If you see the movie and look at the map when they show it, look for OLEAN and PORTVILLE,NY and Port Allegany, PA, Emporium, PA, etc....

The kids on the train were from the local middle school here in town.

Some of the Helicopter scenes were filmed behind my mother in laws house and other relatives down in Port Allegany, PA. the tracks run behind my mother in laws house and my wife got a lot of pics of the train and crew.

Enjoy :)

Ya, well, that's cool, but don't leave us hanging.... did they get the train stopped? Did all the local school kids die? ;)

That must have been cool. Once in a while some movie gets filmed in Maine. It's always fun to have Hollywood come to visit. They splash money around like water in a swimming pool.

It was pretty good movie. Definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat in spots. We have seen it a couple times now. The map in the movie was a bit off showing the towns, but at least they got most of names correct, just not in the right order on the maps. Oh well. :)

Here some cool footage...the one derailment was down in Emporium, PA. Enjoy.
