I scored about 2 ton of coal a couple of years ago. It was sitting in the basement of my buddy's parents house for years. It was the dirtiest, smelliest nastiest coal I had ever come across. I had the worse time burning it and it really had a bad sulfer smell when I would open up the door. My wife complained that the dust that year was terrible. Got a feeling I got a free load of Bit coal. Was it worth it? Well I didn't throw it away, but I'm glad I didn't pay for it.

When it was in the 90's this summer I was hauling out 5 tons of stove coal out of a basement in Matapoisett Ma. It took me 3 trips with my dually. Me and 1 of my workers did it about 2 hrs each Sat morning. We had like 20 5 gal. buckets and just kept filling them and handing them out the cellar window. They just fit out the window and my truck was backed up to the window. I would say 5-6 hrs total time not counting travel. I got the coal for free but thats not the best part. This stuff rocks, I can only compare it to Blaschak because thats all I ever used and it blows it away in every dept and I have about a 3 year supply. The guy I got the coal from grew up in the house as a kid. He told me his mom was the only person that could keep that old coal boiler running. That was still there. The house now is only used as a summer house and has no heating system.

A month or so ago I bought 20 bags of coal via Craigslist. I really thought the coal would be just great since it was bagged from a place that went out of business maybe 15 yrs ago...I thought it was deep mined and prime coal. Anyway, the coal sucked. Clogged my stove with ash and was really tuff to burn. No more coal deals for me... I'll buy from a place I know....by the way...I have 8 bags left...any takers
