Installing Hopper in Franco Belge Stove

Hand Fed Coal Stove: Franco belge
Coal Size/Type: Pea
Other Heating: Oil hot water

I am assembling my franco belge stove and find that I'm unsure which way to put the hopper in. I tried it both ways and although clearly different I can't tell what is correct.

Does anyone have instructions they can post or know of ones they can point me to.
