Hello List--

I inspected my flue. It will need to be swept. I have a 6" fiber brush for the ss liner. But no rods.

Does anyone in the area have 36' of rods I can borrow for a day? My brush has the standard 1/4 m npt connection.

I am located near Lehighton, PA. I'd be willing to drive out to you. I cashed out at the moment otherwise I would purchase new for about $80.

Thanks in advance.

I have 4, 6 footers if you want to drive to New Haven, CT. :o

Your brush should be a male thread end and a loop at the other. Just tie a rock or other weight to a rope and drop it down the chimney. Put a pipe TEE on the threaded end. Rope up and down. Two guys would make it easier.

I thought this out. The rope will not work well for my set up, cause I have a 90 elbow, 32' below the top of the flue. My arm isn't long enough to reach in and pull straight down. It's a good 28" , Heck, I am not Gumby!

Hi guys , my first post. Won't work for Cap , sorry. When I clean the chimney I bunch up a hunk of chain on a rope and go up and down with it. Bust about any blockage up. I have a clean out at the bottom and grab the shop vac. Tried the cat but was a pain getting it clean. Guess I should grabbed the neighbors.

If you can't reach it with your hand, just pull the rope the rest of the way with a shopvac. That should have enough reach/pull to bring the rope to you then you can pull it the rest of the way.

Hello List--

I think I have found maybe 20 used rods with .5" m npt connections. I told the guy I would buy 10 of his 20. Does anyone need 10--4' rods? $2 each, I think. This is a steal if the rods are usable.

Hey everybody local to Eastern,PA--

I found a guy selling 4' rods. He has a total of 144'. I plan on buying 9 or 10. I can buy the entire lot of rods and resell for my cost. Anyone interested? I know JC wants , I think 10 rods? Let me know as I need to move on this deal before someone else does. His asking price is $2 ea.
But the rods are .5" M NPT but I figure a pipe adapter will work to reduce to .25" F NPT so a typical 6" brush will connect to the end.

Sorry for the duplicate message...opps! Forgot I wrote this last week.
