First load of coal

Was on my way up toPine when I decided to make a quick call to UAE Harmony. They were closed Friday when I called but open on Sat. I changed course and went up 183 to Pottsville and got to Harmony about 0945. Was inand out in about 20 minutes. Very nice people and only 150 a ton. By giong up and getting it Isaved 170 bucks for two ton. Oh and the coolest part. Was the guy on the skidsteer was. Within 100 lbs of what I asked for.

You did the right thing. Harmony's coal is great. They always get very close on the weight with the skidsteer.

Don't they have a scale ?

Yes they have a scale but the guy loads you with a skidsteer and then you go over the scale. I was just impressed with the fact that he was that close in wieght. It was probably ten bucket loads. Just google UAE Harmony and the phone number will show under the heading. If your going up Rt 61 thru Ashland you make a right at the top of the hill towards Centralia. You'll take the little detour road and when you come to the stop sign make a left towards Mt.Carmel, you go down the road a couple miles and you'll see a big Pendot salt shed off on the right. UAE will be shortly after that on the left. There is a jug handle for you to do a U-Turn. If people are lined up on the left getting loaded go around them on the right swing around the back to get scaled then come around tothe front and get in the left lane to get loaded and then back around to get wieght again. I borrowed my nieghbors dump trailer, when I got home I put a wheelbarrow under the shoot to catch any coal that did't go into my 5 gal. buckets. My dad filled them while I dumped them. It was around 130 bucket loads, took a little over an hour to unload. At that price I'll heat my house for approx. $3 a day not including the electric for the blowers.

Doesn't that just blow your mind? My friends and neighbors have learned not to bitch to me about their heating bills. I just laugh. Lisa

I like that coal the best. I burn from Hudson just because I don't want to drive that far. But I can go 3 days without taking out the ash's when I burn UAE. When I'm burning Hudson its everyday.

My brother-in-law borrowed the dump trailer to go up to UAE today.He figured if I saved that much $$ he might as well to. He has an EFM boiler.

I just picked up my first load at the harmony mine today. Froze a little till I got home (84 miles round trip) I'll see how it does, I saved $15 ton and only used 2 extra gallons of diesel to haul it. My total was 3460lbs, I did 1 3/4 ton before but it did not look as full on the truck. It was not really wet, worked out well
