coal dealers near lancaster pa

reading thru the many posts it seems their are many coal dealers out there. most in my area sell the blashack and i had good luck with the 1st 2tons. i ran out mid winter and bought more, needless to say bad batch (lots of junk).the winter went a liitle longer than expected so bought some S&T(southern tamaqua) man that stuff burn hot and little ash. in the spring i thought id jump on the cheaper pricing and the guy recommend this stockton coal, im using it now,dang what a mistake no heat crap load of ash and junk. writting this sounds like i should have stayed w/ the s&t. So after getting that of my chest , dealers that sell superior? how about reading coal? any input welcome, any remidies for my stockton issue.

I went to Musser Supply in Columbia for mine. They just told me it was from the southern fields. I had asked if it was Blashack and they said their customers don't care for it as much as what they now sell. They said they only sell what they and their customers consider the best because it's not worth the hassle anymore to have different grades on hand. I'm new to this and I've never burnt anything else. But it seems to put out a lot of heat and not that much ash. Didn't turn on the heat pump at all this fall. So far I belong to the one match club. Looks like I may use about three ton for the winter. I know first hand of one other fellow who got a ton from them at the end of last winter and he said it was really good. It's what he is burning this year. Don't know what he burned before. They are not the cheapest though. At the end of summer they were at $230 a ton picked up for nut. Hard and shiny black.

Not sure if this will help much or if this is what you are looking for, but the place I got some parts for my VC and Keystoker they had a list on their sales counter with coal dealers in the Ephrata area. Maybe you could call them and they might fax or email to you. Bowmans Stove 717-733-4973 I knew I should have picked it up.....

I don't know if this is close to you or not, but I use Reese's located in southern Lancaster county. They don't have Superior, but they have Blashak loose or bagged. Their loose nut is $205/ton. They are at the Church Road / Rt 372 intersection between Buck and Quarryville.

I use Ben Reese in Quarryville, PA. He gets Blaschalk ad it is burning great. I got a little over a ton of Rice delivered and oiled for $228. Since I didnt get enough he charged me a slight delivery fee......I think it was $15......Very pleased so far
