Hot air jacket for pioneer backvent?

I have a 12 yr old 2300 two story home with moderate insulatin. I have no chimmney access from the basement. I like the idea of the powervent.

Is it possible to put/make a airjacket around the pioneer model and then attach it to my cold air return and then use the furnace to spread the heat.
my thought was to put a small fan on the bottom of each side to help move the air/and the furnace fan.

i have talked to the local leisure line dealer they say only option to do this is the hyfire II. or cut a bunch of holes in my floor to create a 'natural air movment" but there using the amish way to do it.

Does this seem possible?

also if this is possible would the pioneer be big enough to heat my home?

If you are going to use a power vent, put the stove in the
living area and let the stove blower move the air around.
If you can get the heat to move around, the stove is plenty big enough.

I would think the Hyfire would be a better choice with the hot air jacket, the guys from LL could answer it better. The pioneer is probably designed differently? not sure.

The furnace would pull the air from the basement floor up the sides of the stove.

I have a Hyfire I that does a pretty good job with my own heat jacket, but uses it's own blowers and another one to move the air.....

i agree the hyfire II is the way to go but there is a big price diffrence. the more i read i like the pocono one but the dealer i talked to did not have these nor mention them.

I dont really want to have the unit in my main living area.

I think it's the way the pioneer is made, it does NOT has a removable top.? The Hyfire has a removable top. The smaller STOVES are made for living area, since they produce a lot of radiant heat on the sides. The larger ones are more made for basement use to be hooked up to your ductwork.

I tried my Keystoker 90K in the basement with just an 8" duct upstairs, didn't even come close to keeping it warm. It would run full blast and only keep it 60-62.

If you want to use a hot air jacket a Pocono would work well in your application . The Pioneer can be built with a duct top but we don't have a jacket for it ,the nice thing with the Pocono is you get 20000btus plus 2 convection fans . Thanks,Dave

ok thanks dave. I will go back to the dealer and talk to them about this model. for some reason they didnt tell me about this model.

I did mean to say 20,000 btus more heat than the pioneer .

would the ponco have enough btu for my house? Or should I be safe and get a hyfire?

Even if it isn't, the Pocono should be enough with a 12 yr old house unless you are in a really colder climate with strong winds .But the nice thing about the hyfire is you have the redundancy of 2 burners .

this would be without the basement. I live in north cental ohio. Where i live is on top of a hill and we do get pretty strong west and north winds.
I have a contact that has a w burner 110 btu hyfire. i assume the older verison. i was considering this but was not sure about the size if it would be enough or not. Also does the hot water coil take away much or any heat? i was considering puting this on as well.

I would go with the Hyfire ,especially if you want to run a water coil .

Does anyone have some pictures of how this pocono 2 LL coal stove would be hooked to a forced air furnace? That would be very help full . I do have the jacket. or maybe a step by step? Will say thanks now
