Since we are on the topic of hot water coils in stoves I am wondering if any one has ever mounted a coil in the air space where the circulation fan would normally blow ? I am not real keen on drilling holes in my stove. I don't run the convection fan because I seem to get better circulation with out it on. I am thinking of making a coil for in the air space and using a ciculation pump to circulate the water between the stove and my oil steam boiler which currently heats my hot water. I am sure if I put the coil inside it will be blowing off constantly during real cold weather. I would be happy if this type of coil would just keep the furnace from running during times of no hot water demand.
