This is my first year using coal, and this website has been extremely helpful if learning how to run this wonderful warming device. Currently I am still waiting on my manometer to arrive UPS, so I still need to do a little tweeking. Baro is set between .04 and .06 and does move what seems like the appropriate amount, but not completely sure.

My basic question this time is what are the upper limits to run my Harman magnafire II at consistently. I have been able to hold fires up in the 500-600 range with a stack running 200-215 just above the baro. It does not seem to be doing the stove any harm, but I need to consult the experience operators to be sure. Currently using up the Reading nut that I have here, only about 30 more bags to use. I am not getting clinkers like I have in the past. What say you all?

I have heard on the Chubby anything over 600* is too hot. Not sure about the Magnafire II but I'd go with anything over 600* would be too high.

no sweat there....
When it's really cold here, 550-600 is the norm.

Sounds good to me. If it's doing the job at those temps. keep it going.
