Leisure Line Shipping to Dealers

PostBy: AJtheNewbie On: Thu Dec 09, 2010 5:10 pm

I will begin by saying that I am frustrated...

I needed the gaskets replaced on my LL Hyfire 2 (top door, glass, bottom door)...so I found a local dealer listed on the LL site...took the doors to them...
they ordered the gaskets 3 weeks ago while I was there...and here I am still waiting to fire up my stove during the coldest part of the winter so far...
because the gaskets have still not arrived at the dealer location. I am located in NY...LL is in PA...I could have driven down and picked them up and would
have had them 2 weeks ago. The Hyfire has served me well...but this is my first exeprience with LL customer service, parts, etc...
and I will say it has been an extremely frustrating experience for me.

Could someone associated with LL please help me understand how how I am still waiting for the gasket set to arrive at the dealer location after 3 weeks?

Any dealer worth a pinch of *censored* should have the gasket
in stock by the roll. They could have done the job while you waited.
A good ACE hardware has what you need.

You probalby could have just gotten the same gaskets at a local stove/hardware store, or call LL directly as stated above, I have always gotten great service from Jerry (previous owner) and the New Guys at LL. ! :)

My thoughts are, the dealer was delaying the order until he had a larger order, or more orders to call in at the same time. Maybe he saves in shipping costs this way, or gets a bulk discount?
I got a Harman dealer who does this.

You know...I honestly tried to locate the gaskets in hardware stores...but I couldn't find them...unless I am being too picky. The gaskets on my leisure line we a much finer / tighter weave that the ones I saw in the stores (they appear to be more what is used on wood stoves)...I am assuming there is a difference between what you need for coal stoves and wood stoves...unless I am assuming wrong...which could be very true.

Thanks for the feedback...I am going to try to touch base with LL sometime tomorrow...to at the very least communicate my situation.

Gasket is a gasket as long as it is the right size.
