I'm due in the next two weeks. For a hot coffee at the Turkey Hill in Mt Carmel that is... :D

going up myself, just not looking foward to frozen coal when i get home.
maybe it will get above freezing by then.(yea right) ;)

I was going to make another trip Saturday morning, but I
couldn't face whacking the frozen coal again. I'll wait till spring.

I have hot and cold water plumbed to the outside spigot. Warm water thaws frozen coal nicely and gives it a final washing. Wear waterproof boots.

I did spray down the gravity wagon before I took it back
to it's owner. With the DHW coil I have hot water out the bazoo,
but I didn't want to wet down the coal. As it thaws it's leaking
all over the basement floor. Humidity is good, but only to a point.

Word has it that they have less than a year left at UAE before it shuts down operations. I live 5 minutes away and this comes from two employees. I'm going to be stocking up this summer because this is the best coal around. I have a feeling the other breakers will jack up their prices even higher then too. This sucks.

One year left of mechanical mining /with the continuous miner .
Then it is back to old school mining /real mining by men and not machine .
The vein is not staying flat starting to pitch so the continuous miner can't be used .
They can also go in the other direction for awhile with the machine .
I real don't think Jeff would of spent all the cash to buy the mine off the original owner if there was only a year left of mining . They also have another vein to tap into if need be the skid more runs at the bottom if you look up the road from
the coal bins you will see the vein face sticking out of the bottom of mountain.
