Hello all and thank you in advance.
I have a bunch of different hard drives and have backed up a copy of my families cds and dvds on them. When I buy a cd or dvd I always try to make a copy on a hard drive in case the poor disc is stepped on or put in the dish washer or who knows what? My question is about comparing these hard drives against each other to see what I may have backed up more than once. I may have backed something up and on 1 or more other hard drives and the same cd or dvd may be backed up by the son or daughter not knowing I did it. Any hints on good programs to compare these drives?
Thanks again

Try Winmerge, it more geared towards individual text file comparison but it will also compare file/folders.

I don't know how much it will help, I know there is specific tools for what you want to do but none that I have used.
I use winmerge for maintenance on this site but I'm not dealing with multiple sources and/or file names.
