bigchunk, you will like the SF250, it is quite a stove. With the built-in heat exchanger, it really pushes the heat out.
GregWhite, a forum member near me here in Michigan has the 'little brother' to the SF 250, it is an out-of-production SF150, just one brick smaller firebox than the SF250. His does a very good job heating his shop. He burns wood during the fall and spring when just a 'chill-breaker' is needed and burns anthracite and bituminous during the long cold winter days/nights.
I'm sure you will be happy with the heat output of the Harmon. How are you going to distribute the heat around your big colonial house? Do you have ductwork installed or since it is a very old house, does it still have the ventilation grates in the ceilings/floors of the rooms??
