Hand Fed Coal Stove: Harman Mark 3 Top Flue

Hi Leisure Line.. Doing some leg-work for my neighbor here.. He just sold (yesterday) his trusty old Quadra Fire wood stove that did nothing but smoke him and his wife out and I have him sold on your Econo Sidewinder model to put in its place.. So, questions are-

1. Does the Econo Sidewinder come standard with Coal-Trol?

2. Can the hopper/feeder assy. be mounted on either left or right side of stove? And does this need to be specified at time of ordering at our local dealer?

Also, he will be using a powerventer due to his poor drafting chimney that he doesn't want to put another nickel into...

Thanks..

Looking at their website, I think the hopper/feeder can be mounted on either side, it didn't say if it came standard with coaltrol. :)

Thats what I read also. If I had to guess I would just tell the dealer which side for the hopper/feeder and it will show up that way...

Most interested in the Coal-Trol, wheather its a standard item or not?? Thats gonna make or break the deal financially for my 74 year old neighbor over there... He wants this unit to help offset the massive wood consumption of his Woodmaster outdoor 'boiler' and the Sidewinder is about all that will fit on his hearth (and is really all he will need BTU wise for the intended space), not that thats a bad thing at all... I just think its great that he really wants to go with coal considering he pays zero for wood... Guess all my long conversations about how much I like my coal heat has been working on him all along!!! :discuss:

Thanks WNY, good lookin' out

Yes it can be either left or right looking at the front of the stove ,it can come with or without coal trol . Another possibility which I will have to look at better before building one , would be the Lil Heater with the feeder on the side. The Lil heater has a better fan and it would be in the back like the other stoves . Thanks ,Dave
