And I have pecan pie, Pumpkin Pie, homemade icecream, an about a dozen different cookies. and at least one or two rounds of 'buttery-nipples'.. YUM..

I think I'm going to be in pain till noon tomorrow !!

Merry Christmas! Breakfast was sausage gravy, biscuits, eggs over easy. Supper was Turkey with all the trimmings. A few snorts of the good stuff here and there thru-out the day. My Christmas present was a spring loaded suspension seat for my John Deere lawn and garden tractor. It will be like mowing while driving a caddy around the yard and garden, lol.

Please take care tomorrow with the returns and sales. I'll be out to hit the sales and hit them hard, I need socks!

Merry Christmas everybody, whats left of it. I spent a lot of time behind the wheel yesterday driving down to Mays Landing, NJ & back and today to Media, PA & back. In-laws yesterday, my parents today. I feel a little like list member Dan at times. I think my in-laws & parents see me different because I am my own person and I don't follow the herd. I don't wear fancy clothes & I don't drink micro brews. So I must be odd, right? But I had some fun while visiting but in the end, there is no place like home. Back to reality on Sunday. I did get a cool book, "Storey's Basic Country Skills". I wouldn't mind having a 5 acre spread with a home, barn, pasture, pond, garden & wooded lot. Now that would keep me busy! :D

Well belated Merry Christmas to all.

Started the day with the first set of grandkids at 0745. They were still in their PJ's. The second set arrived at 0845.

We have been having our "Canadien Breakfast" here for close to 10 years now. I start with slab bacon cut about 1/4" thick. Slow cooked until the desired crispness is achieved. Then I use the bacon grease to make the home fries. (Previously boiled potatoes cubed) The potatoes go in the hot grease first followed by the onions and then covered in sharp cheddar cheese. The eggs are done in an electric fry pan. I said Canadien as this was how my grandfather did our breakfasts while fishing in Canada. Of course after getting up at 0400 to fish, we had to have a few Molsons while cooking the breakfast.

I was cooking from 0800 - 1200 as my parents showed up to finish out the morning. Then off to the daughter's for dinner. 2 fried turkeys, ham, and everything else. Looks like I have to double up on the cholesterol meds for a day or 2.

All in all a great super day. Dann get the chin up.

Rick

Relax Dann and pull the nose of your airplane up! Not easy being yourself some days. Just try to remember Christmas can stay in the heart year-round. If you've told folks where to stuff it in the past, well, some years you'll have holidays like these last two. Stay the course and be yourself. Like-minded folks end up together,so hang tough.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I feel your pain Dann -- I spent my late teens & all of my 20's just floating around for the holidays. I'd usually end up at a friends place ... then I'd have to answer 300 questions from his relatives about why I wasn't with my family, why I wasn't married  , etc, etc ...

Your a good, decent, hard-working American Dann -- things will work out for ya! Hope '11 is better for all of us. ;)

I had a great Christmas just by seeing how much happier I was able to make my 90 year old grandma. As I posted in the last coffee ... or the one before ... I got her that lift chair finally. She loves it! Then for Christmas I got her a Panasonic corded phone, which also came with 2 cordless ones. I picked up a headset as well so she can talk without her arm giving out on her. She can actually hear & understand people when they call now, & still be able to use her walker while talking on the phone. Used to only be able to talk for about 15 minutes before her arm would go completely numb, so this setup took another big burden off her. The new phones also have a sleep feature, which allows you to program the times in which the ringer will shut off, & the time it will turn back on in the morning. It's hard enough for her to get out of bed ... and sometimes these jackasses will call at 1 am selling crap, or trying to scam her out of money .. so this will put a stop to all that as well. I also got to have a long talk with her about dealing with my mom  , and she seems like her happy self again -- so I had a great day today.

This time of year I force myself to mellow out .. relax & count my blessings. Even though I may live in the liberal cesspit of MA, I'm still in the greatest country on earth, with the best friends & family.

All the best to everyone! And here's to a better New Year!! :drunk:

Mornin John, after veiwing the new forecasts, I think we are getting about a foot. I got a plug wooden nickel I'll bet ya! :D

We are only expecting 6 to 10" here, far from the coast. Points east of us in NJ are expecting 17 to 23", that's because this is a coastal storm. The usual is for this area to get the most snow in NJ.

We're getting pounded right now. Saying anywhere from a foot to 2 feet. Nothing unusual up here.

It snows every year in MA, & yet people forget how to drive .... and every single news station reports on the storm for hours & hours on end. No word of a lie -- EVERY SINGLE LOCAL CHANNEL is going balls-out with the storm coverage!! It's funny -- You'd think we'd be used to this stuff up here by now!

You always get to see the low guys on the TV reporting totem pole getting stuck outside in front of a camera, talking about the oh-soooo-obvious! :funny:

15 degrees here, no snow yet, but the North wind is starting to howl. It is supposed to be 10 degrees later with 35 mph wind gusts, good thing I have a full tank of fuel.
