I have a Coal Chubby (the large one) and it is no longer used, it needs a grate and new gaskets, not sure what else.

Basically, in bad shape, what are these worth? It is just taking up space.

Thanks!

They can be had for 200-500 but with yours needing work it would really depend on what is needed. Grates are 90 bucks and if it needs a new firepot then that's another couple hundred. You can look up the prices of what things would cost to fix it here
**Broken Link(s) Removed** and check out craigslist to see what people are trying to sell there's for.

You could contact Larry Trainer ( the manufacturer of the Chubby ) I sure he would offer you something for your stove ( he refurbish's them for resale ). What ever you do, don't throw it away, they are too easy to rebuild and will make somebody happy to have it.

Well I did some looking, it needs a new fire pot, viewing glass, and grate.

Any idea what I should ask for it given the shape its in?

$50? $25?

I think I payed about $300 for mine, not sure any more but I know I wrote the price down in one of these threads :P Mine needed nothing at all, it had the new grate, firebox, shaker and even the gaskets where good. I got very lucky with my find and all I had to do was hook it up and run it.

It's not a blower type of Chubby is it?

I had a stove with a cracked grate and Larry gave me $100 for it on trade-in so that is my estimate on its worth.
At least $50.

I paid $75 for mine. Put a little over $300 to bring it back to life.

Thanks guys.

It does not have a blower, Larry told us years ago that if it did, it would be worth a lot more money.

If anyone is in Southern Maine who could put this to use let me know, it is my fathers stove but I am sure he would welcome it gone. I need to confirm with him, but I imagine this is free to a good home, let me know if you have an interest, its fairly rough.
