China and India want more gasoline and can afford it, that is why it's going up.

I thought all people wanted less Government, not more.

The reason Government steps in is because people can't help themselves, can't make good decisions on there own. Sure some people need an SUV, some need a Bus, some just need to stay off the road.

And a few need to realize that this fuel thing has gotten to a point that a few people giving up SUV's or Bus's doesn't mean squat--people been there done that--this is something that the govt NEEDS to get involved with--I for one am sick of constantly getting screwed--get done with the ban on drilling & depending on countries that can't stand us for our petro--but yes let my local school district call thier own shots according to local needs & not be threatened by the feds about funding--and another thing--if Exxon & other big companies operating out of this country think exporting fuel is so impt--tax the crap out of them for doing same--now I'm just a dumb old farmer, but,I know things could be done

I think we should put an automatic rate adjustment on exported corn and wheat, whatever the price of oil coming into our country is the same would be for the price of corn and wheat being sent to them. I also understand that our price of coal has gone up due to China buying it up right out from under us, maybe we should tariff coal 1000% and get some of our money back from them! Please don't bash the S.U.V. and larger vehicles we drive here in the U.S., I drive a midsize V8 4X4 that gets 15-20 MPG, and I also pull a travel trailer with it (can't do that with a pint sized car!) which drops it to 10-12 MPG, I also live in the snow belt otherwise I wouldn't have 4 wheel drive. If we all drove those little pull toys they call cars today we might as well curl up next to our coal stove and rot away in our homes! I could care less how much oil other countries are using, that shouldn't be a factor in what we pay! What the heck is China gonna give the big oil countries, lead, cadmium, or any other toxic waste they have pushed off on us? They also don't have the stringent laws and regulations we have here in the U.S. and will polute themselves into distinction! Also, we should set limits on our helping hand, what ever a country has helped us with money wise in our disasters, is what they should expect in return, not 5,10, or 1000 fold!!! All my honest opinion!

P.S. Nothing says Oxymoron more than a foreign profit vehicle with U.S. Veteran/U.S. Military licence plates!

Corn, oil, wheat, cattle, orange juice, gold, all sold on the open market. If I want cheap food I grow it myself. If I want cheap heat I work at it every 12 hours. there is no way to get cheap fuel for a car so I choose to drive as little as possible and with a car that gets high marks in fuel efficiency. If I need a truck to do a truck kind of job I rent one for a day. I don't get mad at fellas that drive gas guzzlers even though there driving up the price of gas that I sparingly use.

Gas is not going to last forever, even if they do tap the reserves in Alaska and around the Pacific and Atlantic coast line.

For me I wish the valve was already shut, it would be one last worry to deal with. I conserve while others want to swap and barter there way to burn every last drop. Have at it, be my guest. Your running up the price of everything not just gasoline

And we have been at this for 30+ years. God bless Merle Haggard for this one in 1981:

There's a big, brown cloud in the city,
And the countryside's a sin.
An' the price of life is too high to give up,
Gotta come down again.
When the world wide war is over and done,
And the dream of peace comes true.
We'll all be drinkin' free bubble-up,
Eatin' that rainbow stew.
When they find out how to burn water,
And the gasoline car is gone.
When an airplane flies without any fuel,
And the sunlight heats our home.
One of these days when the air clears up,
And the sun comes shinin' through.
We'll all be drinkin' free bubble-up,
An' eatin' that rainbow stew.
Eatin' rainbow stew in a silver spoon,
Underneath that sky of blue.
All be drinkin' free bubble-up,
An' eatin' that rainbow stew.
You don't have to get high to get happy,
Just think about what's in store.
When people start doin' what they oughta be doin',
Then they won't be booin' no more.
When a President goes through the White House door,
An' does what he says he'll do.
We'll all be drinkin' free bubble-up,
Eatin' that rainbow stew.

Scary isn't it!

It is not the lack or perceived lack of oil that is the real problem. Oil is traded in US Dollars. At the present time the Dollar is still the World's reserved currency. So other countries have to exchange their currencies to dollars before they can buy oil. Our whole lifestyle, society, and the reason everything is still cheap is because we can get oil cheap (relatively) because all the Government has to do is print more dollars and buy oil. The rest of the World is actively seeking to remove the Dollar as the Reserve Currency. When that happens and we have to trade our now worthless dollar which is backed with nothing but faith for another currency to buy oil. Our entire Economy comes crashing down, because; everything depends on the free flow of cheap oil. We will no longer be able to just print bogus paper anymore to get it. We will have to have something of value to trade to get it.
Get ready folks it's gonna be a bumpy ride

The supply & price of it hasn`t changed, its the Wall St.s of the world that drive the price up, buy gas futures to drive the price up & make a profit. Thats the name of the game.
