Why do people blame SUV's for the end of oil? That's small potatoes.

Do you realize that there are musicians having their private pilots fly lattes from LA to them in NYC? Did you know that the average yacht burns 1,000 gallons PER DAY??? Probably more ...

SUV's ain't *censored*. That's a worn out liberal argument for all our ills.

The liberals have to have two things, first is something to go after as being all our ills, and the other is something to be jealous of. SUVs fit that bill just fine

I'm concerned far less about what little I'll run through my suburban than the effect higher prices will have on trucking and agriculture. Several of my friends have already contracted their fertilizer for next year, those that haven't are in for a real shock if this holds up or gets worse.

Yeah, we'll be screwed out here trying to get coal shipped ... :o Can you imagine shipping costing exactly what the coal cost, doubling the price? That would blow ... and that's just one commodity.

I don't know how that would be a liberal argument. I would think it would be a Conservative argument. you know to conserve for the future.

Put NASA on a fuel cell, convert trucks to natural gas, let opec eat its oil. Political will and LEADERSHIP will solve the problem. We can lose enough oil demand that there will be a glut. Just need the balls to move forward. Neither political
party has any.

IMHO shipping costs would skyrocket it the short term and most likely spin are economy into a deeper recession. But then oil prices will stabilize do to a lower demand. Maybe by then we will have a real energy policy and start shipping coal and other commodity by train again (after the tracks are restored, repaired or expanded)...

So my target is to have about two years of coal on hand.

Maybe we need to make a stand on Wall Street, and voice our 2nd amendment rights! Afterall they are the ones who ultimately set the price of EVERYTHING!!!

The Federal Reserve sets the price of everything because they set the price of MONEY.

People always want to blame the Street but they don't go that one extra step.

I kid. I'm not gonna drink after 31 years. It's not even 2011 yet. I have enough illusions to freak out about already.

Check this heavy duty passage out:

"To limit the mind to what it provably knows is to reduce it in size and influence so it becomes one's servant and not one's master. It becomes obvious that the mind actually deals in presumptions, appearances, percieved events, nonprovable conclusions, and mentations which it misidentifies as reality. No such reality as that constructed by the mind actually exists.
The mind tends to be expansive and credits itself with 'worthy' thoughts and opinions. When carefully examined, one finds that all opinions are worthless. They are all vanities and have no importance or intrinsic merit. Everyone's mind is loaded with endless opinions, and when seen for what they are, opinions are really only mentations. What is of more importance, however, is that they stem from and reinforce positionalities, and it is these positionalites which bring on endless suffering." ~ D. R. Hawkins, Phd, Md.
