No, I usually set the T-Stat for the furnace at 64* and just leave it as a back-up. With the Chubby it would run several times a week. I don't expect it to run at all with the 1600. Of course I'll still put a few gallons of diesel in it and set it low but it won't hopefully run.

I have a ton of pics now. They probably gonna put them up at the end of the day though.
Did you try to spread the stove's heat with the furnace blower? Air circulation with it may help for heat control plus you can filter, sterilize, add humidity...

Yes, I did. It blew cold air. By the time the heated air moved from the house to the basement through all the duct work then back up and out the air registers it was cooled off.

Is your basement heated? If not youre right but it gets your floor colder. With air circulation, the blower must run very slowly on the low speed. On mine I had to change the blower speed by changing the pully on the motor and on the blower. Took a few try to find the good ratio but works great. Just suggestions.

Nope. But the Chubby is pretty much cleaned out and uninstalled. Few more burned up rocks to take out of the pot and it'll be ready to come out. Then I'll clean the horizontal run and trap and move the DS into position so that when my buddy gets here all we have to do is measure how far up to move the liner and install the new stove. Then its time to smoke myself out of my home for an hour or two.

A box fan in a nearby window to suck out the smoke and smell...
Open another window for cross venting...
Run it up to 550*...
Pull the smokes or your ears will hurt...

DAMN! Thanks for reminding me. I can't pull my CO / Smoke detectors they are 110v. I could flip the breaker though. But I still have the little baggies that came with them. I need to find them.

I do have more pics. Just haven't gotten around to putting them up. "C'mon.. the anticipation is killing us!!!!"

My smokes are hard wired but when you twist the unit off the mounting plate...
You gain access to the internal pigtail...
Just a push on pull off 4 pin connect...
Smokes should be replaced every 10 years...

You also can place a wet rag over the detector plus a plastic bag and tie it around.
