when pigs fly

Just wondering if anyone else feeds the birds in the winter, put this in the pets thread since thats about what they have become. Fun to watch but not cheap entertainment (warning if your thinking about starting) it gets to the point where I get b****ed at if I allow a feeder to get too low.

We used to, but it got too expensive. Every once in a while we'll throw a Suet block out there in the little cage/ holder thing. Lasts longer than seed does.

We don't have time to watch them ... it's mostly for the cats entertainment. :D

A little bit during the winter, gives the cats in the house something to watch....usually about a 50# bag of seed will last most of the winter....

Too many creatures show up and it gets too expensive. Desirable birds plus dozens of mourning doves (too much like pigeons), gray squirrels, red squirrels, rats, deer, raccoons. I know I'm forgetting some.

The oak trees feed the blue jays some acorns around my place come spring, don't know why the squirls need to hide them, I can always find some.
