CO Detector Question

CO Detector Question

PostBy: k9 Bara On: Sat Jan 08, 2011 1:16 am

In viewing the video of the new CoalJack Boiler I was impressed with the CO detector that would shut off power to an electric device. Is this an available CO Detector? Readily available for purchase? If so, could someone supply and link or brand info please? Thank you,

It may be a standard CO detector, wired up so the signal trips a resetable relay/switch.

Hmmm.... I have a CO detector that will alarm and also turn on a switch that you can connect to anything... a fan, a light, whatever you want. I got it from eBay for about $25. I don't see anything similar on ebay right now. The only thing I find on the internet is about $300! http://www.securitystoreusa.com/Macurco ... ccm21a.htm

Thank you for your replies. This is the closest I have is UltraGaurd but does not seem to be available. Several websites list it in google but have no other info once you go to that site.

Amazon has it here, but not available: http://www.amazon.com/Ultraguard-Detect ... B0015QISRK

Here is a link to a PDF regarding it: http://catalogs.infocommiq.com/AVCat/im ... 0Sheet.pdf

You can always add one of these to a standard Kiddie CO detector....

Don't know if they are different but Kidde lists a different P/N for the CO and smoke detector relay add-on. See: http://www.kidde.com/utcfs/ws-384/Asset ... odules.pdf

They have a shared wiring schematic, but yes, definately diff part num. The one I posted above is the CO version. I haven't heard what the diff is between the two. I can find out....

Thank you very much for the help guys, this is the best deal I can find on the matter. XINTEX CMD-4MRRLY CO DETECTOR WITH GENERATOR SHUT OFF

Gonna read some more but prob will order one ** Prob not, that is 12V for marine use... :(

or maybe use of a 120V to 12V receptacle could be used?

Heres the specs on the Kiddie Relay Modules. Looks like the CO120x can only be triggered by a CO detecter, and the SM120x can only be triggered by a smoke detector. The reason is if you have a combo Smoke/CO detector, you can have either set off it's own trigger.

This sounds like a good idea, only the output rating is a little low,10 amps on the kiddie relay.
