It was a pleasure meeting everyone at the fall anthracite meeting. It was great to talk to the returning members from the spring meet and the "Axeman-Anderson 260M extraction team" as well as the folks who made the trip for the first time. I think Matthaus covered them all. My wife, our grandson and I all had a wonderful time. Thanks Mike for the great tour of the No. 9, I did not know until later that you were a forum member or I would have introduced myself.

The evening meal was slow coming but we had a good business discussion while waiting. I hope everyone made it home safely and hope to see everyone at the next meeting.

Thanks to JC for another great forum event. Julie and I really enjoyed the trip to NEPA. The Fall foliage was picture perfect, the weather cooperated and the No. 9 mine tour was great. I enjoyed seeing those that attended the June get together again and meeting new forum members. We are looking forward to the next years event.

My thanks to JC as well! And echoing jerseycoal, thanks to JC and Yanche for ferrying me around. It was a pleasure putting faces to anonymous names on the forum.

This will probably not be seen by enough people, but for anyone that saw Yanche's equipment, during the "science fair" part of the tour, this looks to be very familiar for what I think to be a good price.

I know the Bacharach Draft-rite retails for $100 and up. That is what I use for my draft readings. Easy to use, works well.

Yeah I was tempted to put more in, seemed like such a waste of space! Course I'm thinking for a single wheel truck that weighs 7,700 empty 24k is probably a good max combined vehicle weight.:P

Now if I could find a feather light Aluminium dump trailer to borrow, just might add another ton!

Hi gaw /glen I agee That is a very good price and I use one myself I think I paid 51.00 for mine a few years ago neat little Draft gauge the one

thing I did do with it is cut a piece of 1/4 in. cooper tube and thereded it to make it a bit longer to get into the middle of the pipe the two section tube
that came with it was a little short it was hot on the fingers but still a nice

unit take care talk to you later :)

Darn, I missed the Coal Fest 2 in favor of KLR Fest 2. Three days of fun, cold brew and food. It was a difficult decision but one that I just had to make.

Maybe I'll tour the #9 next year, :P :P

Many thanks to JC for a very enjoyable and informative day. The weather was great, the trees were in color, and it was a pleasure talking with everyone.

If Matthaus is a Girlie Man with a 24k combined gross load, then my half ton load in a Ford Ranger puts me in the Girlie-Man In-Training class.
