There's something seriously wrong with the negotiated price, too. I just can't figure out who profiteers the most from it. I use a CPAP machine. The negotiated price for my machine, between insurance and the pharmacy, was more than twice what I bought the machine for online at cpap.com. Put it another way: instead of paying the co-pay and letting my insurance "help" me with the rest of the cost, I saved money out-of-pocket by paying full price at a supplier not in cahoots with the insurance company.
