Congrats man. That's the level I would love to be on. I could keep mine going for months but neglect to do so due to the extreme temps in the house. I seem to remember a fellow on here thats had his rig running since '84 I think. Had a Y in the pipe for yearly cleaning so not to shut down his operation. Im sure the guys here will call me out if I am totally imagining things, which could be very possible here lately. Good luck to you and your 6 month burn.

I'm still on the first match so far. It seems to be doing fine, but I am thinking of putting her down for a day to check ash build up and clean it out behind the baffle at the flu exit. I guess I could idle it down and try to look over the baffle with a mechanics mirror. That may work also.

I'm still going strong. Losing the fire isn't my problem this year. I taught my kids how out operate the stove and control the heat production this year so DK and I could go away for the weekend and they have decided they like it hot. When I got home from work yesterday they had the stove/TV room roasting at 86* and were sitting around in short and t-shirts. At least the windows weren't open. I spent the next few minutes explaining the difference between inexpensive and free. :x Here's hoping they got the message. Lisa

I am! I am! But.... I'm a girly man. The AA130 boiler feeds itself so unless I forget to empty the ashes, or it finishes digesting 5 or 6 ton, it'll keep on running. I wish I could run it year round, but it does not make sense in dollars for me.

First match?

Been burning since last Saturday and I've had to relight the stove every day.....

I would be happy to get 24 hours with one match

I will confess, I might be leaving the one match club. In all the years I've been burning coal I've never had it happen, But something is jammed in the grates, I think it is a rock. It has been burning for 24 hours since last shake and won't budge so it is something solid

Unless I can save some burning coal to relight the next batch than I guess I would still be in the club huh

Have a great weekend everyone, Eric

coalfire, save them coals.According to the Book of Rules (By Fred) that's still a one matcher) ;) smtm--if you posted your stove type & where you're from in your avatar & explain what your doing or not doing, there is a wealth of info on this Forum that could probably help get it straightened out--the only stupid questions are the ones not asked :) Yep,the old 50-93 is still on match #1. All the help I got here in the beginning of my coal burning venture has enabled this to be so.Special thanx to oliver power on that one :)----------------smtm,just went back to prio posts--OK as long as you're getting a handle on it--God knows you got enough info to play with ;) Still, fix your avatar

I guess I'm not in the club anymore. :( I put the Chubby down to install the DS. But the DS is still going on one match. Does it still count? ;)

I did have a close call the other night though, there was too much ash buildup on the grate and it almost suffocated. But I managed to save it.

Reading this:
Should I Be Concerned?
It seems the Chubby was lit several times. Maybe with the same match? (LOL)

September / early October I was getting a feel for the stove. Officially, the stove was lit October 10th where it stayed lit until January 6th. By January 8th the DS was in place and fired up.

Now having said that, I had mentioned several times throughout several different threads that the Chubby was not going to stay lit until at least October or November if my excitement didn't over come me. But the excitement of burning coal got the better of me and the Chubby was lit October 10th at 1753 (documented forever on my Android Smart Phone).

Not sure what the deal is. Whatever I've done to you, I'm sorry. Do you want me to buy you a DS? ;)
