It's so secret that the company was not asked to comment on it? What was their response? Who is Morgan Worldwide and how did they get this contract? Even though this is an excerpt, the absence of these questions suggests advocacy, not journalism.

The amount of rhetorical BS in this article is astounding... "Sends a chilling message" oohh, frightening :o So basically the argument, according to this really well done piece of journalism :P , is that because they've been doing something for years they should be able to continue doing it regardless of impact. Because.... "Dey tuk er jobs!" Sorry, I know jobs are important, and this article is hardly the piece to start a discussion around, but sometimes factors other than financial stability need to be looked at. I know, I know, sounds like BS liberal democratic agenda  I am all for coal mining and the use of coal until we can find something better. I also don't know too much about this particular mining practice, but from an article that seems to be swinging in favor for it (and using it to trash the Obama administration, which is really the whole point of the article) a particularly dismal picture is painted about this type of mining. But again, I have never seen this kind of mining.
