Saw two nice units today, for sale and some nice travelling

PostBy: stoker-man On: Wed Jan 19, 2011 8:39 pm

Finally met Dave Padfield after all these years. He has the nicest shop I've ever seen.

Was at Jack Ryan in Mahonoy City and he has a very nice 350 for sale, ready to go.

Couldn't resist the Kielbasi at Kowaloniks in Shenandoah either after seeing Joey.

Went to Morgan Oil in Hegins and Lee has an almost new-looking '79 DF520 with a round door. He was asking $3800.

Tower City isn't the same without the mayor, now that he is gone.

Drove by Scrapper's shop on the way home and saw "no activity" in the shop or I would have stopped to see that big one in there.

I'm getting a good view of the beautiful coal country on my last week working at efm.

Sounds like you are making the 'rounds'. Nice to see old friends, no matter what the reason. Best Wishes....

I think I drove by around 4:30.

I have indeed moved on to bigger and better things in my own hometown again. The 20% of my job that remained after the merger wasn't enough to interest me until retirement. But, I'll still be here on the forum, enjoying it 100%.

You will always be "Stoker Man". I among others on The Board,am glad that you have called this shot. Pushed by the merger results, but still glad for you. You get the same old tired argument about saving the firm through mergers and acquisitions. AHS lost key folks and isn't the same at the heart and soul. Your place seems to have suffered the same fate. I wish all well, but I love the "Old Guard" that refuses to play the "Corporate Dumbdown" Game.....Bob...

Well, I thought I would be taken out of efm in a box and always absolutely loved the job, but there's almost nothing left to love. I met a stone wall of condescension at the new place and decided to walk around it.

I was recruited to my present job before I left Emmaus. I'm not a quitter, so I wanted to stay to help Rich and see this thing through and I declined the prospective job offer. Every month I was reminded that the job was still unfilled and asked if I was interested. Finally, after 3 months, I gave the new job a look, and several interviews later, I was offered the job. Timmy will take over my spot. He's a good man, knowledgeable about the coal boilers, and likable. Rich, Timmy and I grew up together.

I would not expect anybody to take my place as the efm rep, so we'll see what Richard comes up with.

I'll still be here, as an efm dealer, and efm rep emeritus. :D

Hi Chris,

A few day's ago I was reading some of your posts back from 2007. They were always well thought out and patiently written. Never once did you come across as a "know-it-all" and were very helpful to everyone. Good luck on the next stage in your life and I am looking forward to reading your future posts on this board.

Respectfully

Mark

Stoker-man just wanted to tell you that although I'm new to this forum and coal burner for that matter, you have already helped me figure out and tune my boiler in. Thanks for your help. I will say that i've bought a refurbished boiler and also talked two of my friends into a refurbished boilers. Each of those are a great unit but one of the main reasons they bought them is because I tell them about everyone on this forum and how easy it is to get helpful information and troubleshooting from you and the other great minds on this forum. So thank you for your help and don't go far.... SOME OF US GREENHORNS MIGHT STILL NEED YOU.
