How much coal have you burned so far

Started with a big pile and now it's a smaller pile. "You are hopeless at guessing how much coal is left, Simon " quote Steve, Cornwall coal (I don't like bags). So now I will send pictures and he can guess but I tell you one thing it's amazing how little I've burned so far. That is partly weather and partly AnthraKing. I love both God (or is it Al Gore - perhaps he made the weather good) and LL. I will submit an end of season estimate that will be much more accurate.

So this season, my 9th with coal, is the first time I was really meticulous with accounting for my coal. I've always just sort of winged it. But as of today, I've burned 2 1/4 tons. 3 tons left in the bin. It's been pretty mild except for a few times and now. It's less coal than I thought. That's good! :)

I have burned about 1.25 tons (little over a pallet of blakshak) so far starting from late October. 1,700 sf with temp set at 69 but the thermostat overshoot keeps it 70-71 most of the time.

I've burned close to 1.75 tons since firing up at the Halloween snow storm. I've not been burning continuously since we have had such warm spells since then. Probably have relit about 6 times, I've lost count. Even with shutting down that much I've been burning more than necessary since this is the first year with the stoker and I've been experimenting and trying a few things.

I would have used less coal with the hand fed since with the warm day time temps I would have burned a wood fire at night and let it go out during the day. But it was nice to just move the thermostat to kick the fire higher and worth the extra 500 or so lbs of coal to keep it idling! I do miss burning all the junk mail we get though. I think I got a week's worth of heat out of burning that stuff over the course of the winter.

About 2 tons since Oct 15th. Keystoker Koker, 2400 SF house, we keep it at 70 during the day but 74 between 4pm and 9pm each day.

I usually have 5.5 tons dumped into my basement.

Think this year we may have a bunch left over!!

I bought 1.2 ton 57 days ago. I know this because I'm using a bag a day, the next 1.2 comes today. The best part is only needed about 10 gallons of oil for hot water, have to do something about that next yr. Gotta keep those damn arabs out of my house. How many folks in central to northern maine would like to go in on a truckload?......even if it is in the spring for next yr.

My first year with coal now oil free! Fired up the boiler on October 17, keeping my 1800 sq ft house at 68 and dhw.
As of today 3,940 lbs. I hope the 3 tons I have left is enough!

1.25 ton so far this season. It is the mildest winter on record in southern new england. it was -2 at home yesterday morning and that was only probably the 2nd or 3rd like it. My first morning ice fishing was last saturday. It was the first 4" of the season. by now I am usually driving the truck on the ice.

about 2 to 2.5 tons so far. easily .5 to .75 down from years past due to warmer avg temps.

I have about 3 to 4 tons left and feel pretty good about that lasting if this weather stays the same.

I started burning coal on Nov. 18, 2011. I've burned 170-25 lb coal hod buckets so far (2.13 tons total). I weight each bucket on a beam balance pediatrician's baby scale bought at a flea market. It's sensitive enough to detect the difference between one piece of pea coal!
