During the recent cold snap, I burned 50#/day. My normal winter rate has been around 30 #/day. Even running the stove hard, my furnace had to help keep the house warm when it was so cold outside. I like my stove, but it is a little undersized given the poor insulation of our house - it was originally built as a cottage. We plan to renovate in a few years, so improved insulation should allow the stove to better fit our heating load.

Would not want to heat with wood as I see my freinds going to load up every 3-4 hours. Best investment I ever made was this coal boiler, weather man says -15 to -20 degrees tonight!! So I'm just sitting back enjoying the heat inside the house!!!
